*Disclaimer* This a very short Halloween story!
Chapter One
Knox dropped his keys on the table by the door. A Halloween jar was filled with an array of candy. His home smelled of a mixture of pumpkin and cinnamon. The dim lighting filled the house as his tall frame moved through the home he shared with his fiancée, Lauren. They had been together for three years and engaged for the last eight months.
He wanted to get married as soon as he found out she was expecting, but Lauren wanted to wait until after she had the baby. Knox made his way up the stairs in search of his fiancée. He figured she was in their master suite asleep because she had been extremely tired. She was due at any given moment so she had been on bed rest for the last couple of weeks.
Knox catered to her every need. He bathed, fed and did any and everything that needed to be done. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for Lauren. He loved her with everything in him. Right as he was about to push the door open, he heard Lauren’s voice in angry, hushed tones. He paused so that he could listen to what was being said. Lauren was so engrossed in the conversation she had no idea Knox was home.
“I can’t tell him, Sean! That will devastate him.”
It got quiet on Lauren’s end while Sean threatened to tell Knox their secret. Silent tears streamed down her caramel face. She couldn’t believe she had allowed herself to get into this mess. One stupid decision led to breaking her heart and Knox’s.
“I can’t tell him this baby isn’t his, Sean. I just can’t do that to him. I’m sorry,” she sniffled.
Knox could hear his heart beat through his ears. He felt like he would collapse at any given moment. There was no way he had heard that bullshit come out of Lauren’s mouth. He wasn’t a weak nigga by far. In fact he was natural born and stone cold killer, but this shit made him feel like the weakest nigga ever.
Lauren sobbed on the other side of the door while Knox cried silent tears. He hadn’t cried since his parents died 12 years ago in an electrical house fire. This shit right here hurt because he didn’t have anyone he could call on. Knox was built differently so he didn’t trust anyone outside of his parents and at one point Lauren.
She had really fucked him on this shit. He thought he was going to get to experience the kind of marriage his parents had. Sadly, he was mistaken. Taking a deep breath he pushed the door open, startling Lauren.
The murderous look in Knox’s eyes scared her shitless. She had never seen that look in his eyes before. The deafening silence sliced through them like a switchblade. The energy in the room swarmed around them like killer bees. His hands rested coolly in the pockets of his sweats.
“So the baby ain’t mine, huh? Its Sean’s right? Who the fuck is Sean, Lauren?”
“Knox I—it wasn’t supposed to happen like this?”
“Yet, somehow it did. Tell me, Lauren…how long were you going to keep this façade going? You was really gon’ marry a nigga knowing that fuckin’ baby wasn’t mine,” his voice boomed.
Lauren jumped at the sound of Knox’s voice. He naturally had a deep voice, but tonight it was darker and deeper than usual. She rubbed her stomach as silent tears streamed down her face. The look on his face broke her heart into a million pieces.
While the storm was brewing inside one was brewing outside. Strong winds blew as thunder roared in the sky. Lightning cracked in the sky as the rain poured. When the next roar of thunder blasted in the sky, Lauren gripped her stomach.
Knox’s eyes dropped to her gripping her stomach. He should have felt something, but he felt absolutely nothing. This beautiful woman had betrayed him in the worst way. Instead of staying even though he knew she was going in labor he left.
As he moved towards the door he could hear Lauren begging him not leave. There was no reason for him to stay. She needed to call whoever the fuck Sean was. He didn’t care about the house. He had more money than he knew what to do with so it was nothing for him to get another place.
“I need youuuuu,” she said through gritted teeth.
Knox kept going and never looked back. From this day forth he wasn’t about to trust another bitch if his life depended on it. He didn’t sign up for heartbreak and humiliation. All he wanted was real and unconditional love.
Happy fucking Halloween…
Chapter Two
Valarie sat up looking around her darkly lit room. Shades of purple blended it with the black and gray color scheme of her bedroom. Her dark slanted eyes traveled around her room as if it held the answers to her darkest secrets and desires.
What really had her senses heightened was Knox Warlock. The man was beautiful, yet broken. She could feel his energy even without him being in her presence. Valarie knew he was headed her way and she was prepared for him or so she thought.
It had been many decades since she had desires this strong or felt a connection to anyone. There was something dangerous and dark surrounding Knox even though he seemed like a gentle giant. Just thinking about him made her pussy leak with desire.
“He’s different than what you are used to, Val.”
Valarie looked up to find her grandmother standing there in a long black dress. She was dripped in rubies and emeralds. Her silver-gray hair was elegantly pulled into a tight bun at the nape of her neck. Those piercing black eyes like lumps of coal could read you in seconds.
“You think I don’t know that grandmother?”
“I think you are so bound in lust you don’t realize how bound this man will have you. He doesn’t know who or what he really is, and because of that you are playing with fire.”
Valarie frowned. “Grandmother he isn’t a warlock.”
Evelyn smirked and pointed her finger towards Valarie’s dresser. A black ledger appeared with shimmering gold light surrounding it. It opened and flipped to a particular page. Valarie lifted her eyes to her grandmother and back to the ledger.
She walked over to see the unique script on the old pages. The ledger had to be over a few decades old, but it held meaning. When she touched the words strategically written there, she felt a surge of energy she had never felt before.
“Knox ‘Stagolee’ Warlock is an untamable man. He has no fear of anything or anyone. He is dark and dangerous, holding power he doesn’t realize he has. Not only that, he is sex god who can and will fuck you into his control. He will have total domination over you unless…”
“Unless what?” Val raised an inquiring brow.
“There is a potion for him, but with him you are going to have to be somewhat gentle with him. Then again maybe you won’t.”
Valarie didn’t like what she was hearing. She should have known if her grandmother appeared it was because she knew shit wasn’t going to be easy. Other men in her past life were easy targets, yet they were so boring. Her spirit told her Knox was going to be different. She just didn’t know how different. She felt there was something more her grandmother wasn’t telling her.
“I have to go, dear, but be mindful of what you are dealing with.”
Just like a blink of an eye her grandmother was gone. The ledger started flipping pages on its own before it flew off the dresser. The ledger showed Knox walking with all black on with the hood pulled over his head. His big, strong, and muscular body moved like a man on a real mission. His bow legs made her lick her full lips hungrily. Knox was so close because her greedy pussy was dripping with desire. She just knew he had a big dick because he walked like he did. The ledger closed with force before it slid in the corner of her dimly lit room.
