Devin Shane was raised between Long Beach, California and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in poverty. At age 16, she had her first child and decided that she would break the generational curse and be a better role model for her son. After many smalltime jobs, she took a chance and joined the United States Army.

Her love for writing got her through deployment. After going to Iraq and returning, she decided to focus her energy on becoming a serious writer. Her upbringing help shaped her writing through the years helping her self-publish her first novel at age 19.

Now in between raising her two children, she writes full-time and hopes to change the world one word at a time.
